    Greetings to all:

I want to take an opportunity to thank the Spokane Gun Club for its outstanding effort in hosting the 2008 Washington State ATA Trapshooting Championships this past weekend. Everything, from the appearance of the grounds, the trap maintenance, help, and volunteers from the club, came together for the betterment of the shooters. LJD Cashiering was instrumental in the smooth running of the shoot. They truly are a class act in cashiering services, and we greatly appreciate the fine service they gave.

As John said in a previous post, our turnout was near identical to last year, which says a great deal given the elevated costs assocated with our sport.

I also want to thank the vendors for their participation at our shoot. Among them, Phillip's Gunsmithing, Garner's Sporting Goods, Best Buy Shooting Supply and Northwest Shooting Supply were there and ready to supply anything and everything that might be needed. Ringo's Little Vegas Casino was there as well, giving out tee shirts and vouchers for food and services. I recognize the effort it takes to make an appearance, and I want them to know it is highly appreciated.

The final results are posted online at: http://www.shootwsta.com/2008_Shoot_Results.pdf

My thanks also go out to Jean Starkel and Katie Evans for volunteering their help in planning the Hall of Fame celebration! It is always a pleasure to see their smiling faces!

I want to extend a special word of thanks to all of the WSTA Directors. It is hard to explain the amount of work that goes into putting together a successful State Shoot, but suffice it to say that to work from 7am until 8pm for 4 days,(while trying to work around shooting) not to mention the months of preparation, is to be commended. Everything, from trapsetting, handicapping, trophy presentation, shoot-offs, planning the state meeting, more shoot-offs, and cleanup, takes a lot of time and energy. They truly ARE the best.

Finally....my sincere thanks to all who attended...shooters, families, and spectators alike. It was a great shoot!

    Sincerely,

    Kim Stephens
    WSTA

Kim - - - I nominate you as permanent scribe for the Association!

That's the best shoot report ever published on TS.com. Congratulations.

Thanks Drew. We missed you this weekend! Someone said you had been under the weather, so I hope you are doing much better.

John and I won't be at the Poulsbo shoot this year, unfortunately. We committed ourselves to 4 days of ATV riding down in Oregon with out kids.

I keep thinking I'm getting to old for this, but it's so much fun..... :)

Have a(nother) GREAT shoot, and we'll see you at the Western Grand, hopefully!

    Take care,

    Kim
