Can any of you Krieghoff Experts shed a little light on the pros and cons regarding the K-32 Lightweight Titanium Model.

there was one on gunbroker not too long ago. They are fine for field and occasional target use, but them and the k80 lightweight receiver will not stand up to 10K+ target years year in and year out.

So are the lightweights more prone to blowing up??? Why did the one you saw at Krieghoff blow up.

I have a K32 Phantom just got it and no problems so far. I'm setting up a sporting gun and using a 32" barrel. This setup is perfect for me. The extra weight of the 32" barrel is offset by the lighter weight of the receiver.

Here is a link to a write up in 2000 in the skeet shooting review about the Phantom and K80 Lightweight. Hope this is helpful.

Todman nice post—I will take exception with Nick on a couple of points.

The first has to do with the K80 regular receiver--- I believe there were a couple of reasons these were made case hardened—one to differentiate them legally from the K32 and two to provide a solution for the problems of gouging and scratching that abused K32s showed.

Now I was going to keep out of this but maybe the problem wasn’t lightweight receivers cracking- maybe it was with them stretching. So if an lightweight was abused- that might happen- and there might have been a room at Ottsville where you could find some of these receivers gathered together if you looked in a certain room.

I have had several K80 lightweights and someone always wants to buy one from me- I use one for hunting- neat concept—and I have a K32 trigger in that one- more room and less to go wrong when you are out hunting

    Regards from Iowa
