Wonder what the salary is. I know a guy who could fill this position nicely. He runs two companies now and owns 3 private aircraft as well as a flight school. A real success story. Great guy and very smart. He loves trapshooting and the people in the sport.

I AM SURE EARL SCRIPTURE WOULD DO A GREAT J0B AS ATA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. EARL WOULD NOT LAST LONG BECAUSE HE WOULD EXPOSE TO MUCH WHATS WRONG WITH THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.

This could be a very rewarding retirement job for the right person.

    I would nominate Steve Carmichael.

The ideal candidate for ATA would be someone who has a strong business and management background, familiar with accounting principles, computer technology, has successfully managed people, shown a history of success in their previous employment or career and has some familiarity with the sport... But being a "great trapshooter" has little to do with being successful at running a complex, diversified member-driven organization that has to manage paid professionals and lead volunteers. I read with amazement comments from people who suggest someone should take this on "because they are retired now, or are a good business person, etc.". It isn't as simple as those sitting behind the 27 yard line watching the show think it is. And the most important thing for the successful candidate is to have a good employment lawyer draft their employment contract! Just saying! W
