$20.97 in Beautiful Elkton, the cultural mecca of MD.

And yes those Walmart pictures that have been circulating on the web are representative!

years ago a friend of mine was in minnesota. at that time walmart was selling federal 4packs for $15.97. he drove to a walmart and heard that previously protestors with signs wanted walmart to stop selling guns and ammo. walmart decided to comply, and he said they were selling the fed 4pks for $8.00, to get the inventory out of the store. makes you wonder how much they pay for these 4 packs. he purchased as much as he could fit in his car. he said he was worried that the weight from the shells would ruin his car. in this day and age, if you could purchase these 4pks for $8.00, how many would you buy?

Walmart in New Bern, NC increased from $20.97 to $22.97 this week. With 7.75% state tax it comes to $6.18/box. The manager in Sporting goods thinks all ammo will have another price increase after January 1st.

It looks like Walmart has signed a contract with Winchester as the supplies of Federals 4-packs are dwindling from their shelves. Stocks of Winchesters are increasing. JOND

Guys, can't ya do the math? Individual boxes of Federal are $4.77. Four boxes (100 rounds) cost $19.08, go figure - literally!

Well they went up here to $22.97 a four box carton here, add 7 percent sales tax, and I get a total of $6.14 a box.

Maybe I won't going shooting tomorrow, and instead get the reloader back out.

North East Ohio back up to 22.97. I have been buying Walmart federal shells for a few years now and this has been the norm. At least they were less during the peak shooting season. Now I only need a couple hundred a week. They are close convenient and easy to get for me. The closest bulk ammo dealer that I could buy flats for about the same price is a 100 mile round trip. I still save when the price of gas goes into the calculation. I just don't fill the cart like I have to in the summer. (they always give me that funny look when I empty the shelves. on a weekly basis).
