While in my local Wally World I noticed that the Winchester and Remington had increased in price to over $23.00, in 100 round boxes. But the Federal 3 dram 1-1/8 loads were still $16.97 or $4.25 per box. Plus tax of course.

    Questions:

Is there something wrong with the Federal loads?

    Is $16.97 a good price?

Have any of you trap shooters used the Federal loads? Comments please

I bought all the store had, hope I'm not stuck with a bunch of junk

    Thanks

No,,there is nothing wrong with the federal loads,,,they marched me back to the 27 very quickly...

Reload them once and give'um a toss,,,Use the loading data for Federal Hi-power shells....

The winchesters went to steel hulls,,,and that caused a problem for my gun,,they would not extract properly...

If I am not mistaken the Federal shell that I bought today have steel bases. I know they are not brass, because the base is silver in color. Are we talking about the same shell Grammie?

Some state require a sell down of inventory before new prices go into effect. EX. If our walmart bought 100 flates at X and posted them as 16.00per 100pack then they must keep that price on those 100 flats. Our local wal mart ammo shelves had been getting more depleted in the past few weeks. They didnt even have the rush of hunting loads at the beginning of the season. I asked the clerk whats up with the inventory. "stock Reduction" When its gone we get the new shipment at the new prices. BANG 16 to 23. There where some feds left @ 16.97 when I went in to buy some .40cal S&W. Yesterday they had no Feds on the shelf? So im sure there will be a price change.

FlaLagarto if they had a red sticker on them it means they are close outs they won't stock them any more. The ones you bought should be the last that they get in that particular store.
