Through the generosity of a fellow shooter, I have been given a barrel of 12 Gauge Activ hulls. Looking through my load books, I see that the Activ L-33 wad is recommended for 1 1/8 oz load with a Winchester 209 and 18 grains of Red Dot. I have lots of Win primers and Red Dot but wads are the problem.

Any recommendations on wads would be appreciated.

Activ is a pretty cavernous hull, but Red Dot is pretty fluffy.

Fed 12S0 is pretty close to perfect for 1-1/8oz in an Activ. There is a difference in total length and shot-cup depth between the CB 2100 and the DRF0, and you might prefer one over the other for crimp-prettiness.

You might also try the CB 6100, with 'winchester-style' legs, but nominal 1oz cup.

Loading Activ, the longer wads usually are preferred.

Green Dusters work great in the Activ hulls for 1 1/8 oz loads if you happen to have some on hand.

I have been using the Claybuster 12S3 wad and reddot in 1 1/8 oz loads they load up just fine with good crimps. I have the reloading data that was sent with the Active wads they list loads using the 12S0,12S3 and the WAA12L wads. I will try and post some loads tomorrow morning.

I have used the Claybuster 12S0 wad for 1 1/8oz loads in the Activ hulls.

They go through the loader so smoothly, you will not want to run anything else.

You will love these hulls. They are about as lite recoiling as I have seen except maybe paper. They had a 1 3/4oz factory load in a 2 3/4" hull. What does that say about internal volume.
