I first shot with Joe 40 years ago at Walla Walla. Boy, did he hate to miss a target!

Several years ago Joe was going back to his trailer after a handicap shootoff he had won at Spokane. A fellow approached Joe and said "I wish I had a gun that shot like that one". Joe replied, "bring a stack of 40 100 dollar bills over to the trailer and you can have this one".

My condolences to Al, Nadine and the family. Keith Miles

Re-posted from the Washington State Trapshooting Association's blog site:

It is with deep sadness that I report the passing of Josef (Joe) Ljutic. The son of Al and Nadine, Joe was a member of the WSTA Hall of Fame, and was a legend in the sport of trapshooting. He will truly be missed.

Mike Scharbach, owner of Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Home, and fellow trapshooter, reports the following information:

Memorial Services for Joe Ljutic are to be held Sunday, December 23, 2007, at 3:00PM at the Open Bible Christian Center, in Yakima, WA. The address is 2701 Lincoln Avenue. Telephone: (509) 972-1895.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, and the trapshooters of Washington State, I extend our sympathies, prayers, and heart-felt condolences to the entire Ljutic Family.

    Kim M. Stephens
    President
    Washington State Trapshooting Association
