My hope is that the non registered trapshooters abstain from voting. Leaving you out is not meant to be punitive but an accurate count of those registered shooters who frequent this site. This should only pertain to those shooters, currently spending their hard earned on ATA targets. Thanks for your cooperation.

    3 hole.

    So are you saying,

"This should only pertain to those shooters, currently spending their hard earned on ATA targets."

The fact that you are a paid member means nothing??????

Is that what you are asking for?????

    BTW vote on what??????

I only shoot 2 registered shoots/year so I shoot penalty classes in both but I'm still curious... for what reason?

to overpopulate the lower classes?

to thin the ranks of the upper classes?

to shorten classification/squadding lines at major shoots?

ego gratification?

Actually Butler, it would be very easy to enforce. Just make it mandatory for the Grand and all the satellite grands. Then the clubs would throw targets accordingly. It wouldn't do much good to practice on lesser targets.

You would have a few clubs that would continue to throw "2 hole" targets, but the shooters that travel to the larger shoots would seek out the clubs throwing the "3 hole" targets.

The most populated league that I shoot in, is a small 2 field club that still sets targets to "3 hole" specs.

    I vote:

    YES

I really like short shuckers idea of making it MANDATORY at the Grand and Satellite Grands. I would add, that all State Shoots be required to throw 3 hole within some time period after introduced at he Grand/Satellite's.

What purpose would the 3 hole targets serve? The same shooters will dominate regardless of which hole you put them in. It would just discourage the little shooter by shooting lower scores.

I wrote the directions for the vote poorly. The vote is for either keep 2 hole or change to 3 hole. Sorry.

    YES!!

1oldtimer&likes-to-shoot; a study of our sports history will answer your questions and thoughts. Short answer, a tougher target will bring back the ""perception"" that you don't have to shoot near perfect scores to at least stand a chance of a win/place or show. This pertains mostly to our handicap events and our games history proves the point. Hap

Absolutely! The only reason for the change was some clubs were engaging in the practice of stealing shooters from other clubs and failed to enforce the rule as stated in the rulebook. It was easy to pussy out of the issue, drop the rule and soften up everyones targets!!
