Just received NRA/ILA message regarding CT sb 1160 " Emergency Certification
An Act Concerning Gun violence Prevention and Children's Safety..."

    "Summary:

The bill makes numerous changes in the laws governing 1. firearms 2. mental health insurance coverage and services provision and 3. security for K-12 public schools and institutions of higher education.........."

    .........
"It repeals an unused $ 3 million bond authorization, initially created in 2007 for a school security infrastructure program"

    **************

Does this mean that funds were allocated for school security in 2007 and the funds were never used? How concerned were the politicians about children's safety?

And the whole of the bill is confusing and would take a
Philadelphia lawyer a month of Sundays to read and interpret.

Why are these topics all lumped together in one bill? Are there 'three in one' experts to deal with this? Who are they?

Why aren't these issues being dealt with:

    1. Firearms ***** Present firearms experts

    2. Mental Health ***** Present mental health experts

    3. School Safety Concerns ***** Present security experts

What kind of hokey legislation is this all lumped together? Would you go into a restaurant an order a set of golf clubs, a tailored suit, and the breakfast special? This is absurd!!!!
