I own a 1990 Isuzu 4X4 that has severe rust in the pick up box.
As old as it is,that little truck still runs like a champ
and I just can't bring myself to part with it.
I am thinking of replacing the box with some type of steel
and wood flatbed utility body. Have any of you done such a project?
    Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

    thanks for listening,
    Mark

Why not go to a wrecking yard and seeing how much a replacement box would be? Surely some wrecking yard in your area would have one with front end damage but a good bed.

Flat bedding rusted out truck beds is as old as the hills.
Pop into the pirate4x4 link above and look around.
There is an Isuzu forum as well.
I have done 6 toyotas in the last 8 yrs myself.
    measure, cut, weld, paint.
