Given the same size shot and choke will a fast load shoot tighter than a slower load, or is it opposite?

A slower shell will usually provide a denser pattern.

In my testing, for which I can provide the data if asked, the only big change was when shot went below about 1100. Then the patterns were tighter.

Using light, heavy, and handicap speed shells of the same factory brand, in one case they were all about the same, in another case the slower ones were a bit tighter.

You can't "open up the pattern" by shooting faster shells, at least not enough to be worth the added recoil.

I think my shot are happier when I put them into a shell that that blasts them at only 1145 ft/sec. Happy shot is important.
