Does anyone have a copy of the morning sunrise photo over the trap houses in Vandalia, OH? I believe the photo was taken in 2004 or 2005. For some reason mine was accidentally lost. Thanks,

    Dale

Thanks, It brings back a lot of good memories. Remember the craziness in 1999 with the 100th anniversary.

I’m looking forward to attending the Cardinal some day. I was talking to a fellow shooter this past Saturday that attended the Classic and said it was absolutely incredible place to shoot. With my work schedule now its just not impossible for me to go. Thanks for posting the photo.

Dale, you will love the big shoots at the Cardinal Center. Closest thing to the Grand at Vandalia you will find.

Could you please explain this statement.. other then being in Ohio, I don't think it reminds me in any way of Vandalia.

The Cardinal Classic and the Ohio State Shoot were the biggest shoots I attended this year and put them in the "Grand" category for me. There also just seemed to be a more intimate atmosphere somehow than most big shoots, particularly the Grand at Sparta which I attended for the first time last year. Nothing against Sparta...I'm glad it's there, but I think the Cardinal Classic will be my annual Grand from now on.

I find neither Sparta or Cardinal what I would call "intimate" As far as social factors I found a whole lot more far away friends to visit with at Sparta.. Vandalia was the most social of the three, but it took many many years for it to acquire that title I'm sure.

I have nothing against the CC.. I have been there the last two years and will most likely be there next year. But it's not Vandalia by any standard in my book. Vandalia is a wonderful memory that I will always cherish.

Hi. I'm new to the trap shooting world. I've heard and read about Vandalia. Is the range still there and do they still have shoots there. Thanks for the history, BL Allen

The new Las Vegas trapgrounds with Steve Carmichael running it may become the new center for trapshooting.

Ooooh, I can still smell the onions and peppers. Always stop there on the way to the beer garden.
