    I used to have an 1884 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle in good shape & about 5 yrs. ago it was supposed to be worth between $500 & $600. If yours is an original Carbine, not a cut down rifle, it is probably worth consideraly more. John

    jaquas has a 1884 trapdoor for 1595.00 dont know if its the same thing you got. you can look on there web sight and check it out.

    I have one that is bigger than .45 caliber. It appears to be .58 cal. I lost the ram rod when I was a kid. I was told it was converted from a muzzle loader but I really don't know. Everyone I tell about it says it is a 45/70 but it is much larger
