Anything in a fixed choke barrel can be duplicated with screw chokes PERIOD Jeff

Well Jack, after 20 years of working with Briley and hundreds of barrels , Bring your barrel and I will bring one with choke tubes. The pattern board does not lie. I may not have shot as many patterns as some ,but I have shot thousands. Confidence ? I know what my gun does do you ? What do you want yours to do? Shoot for you? It is just metal. If those factory barrels were magic ,you could get anything you asked for them. Jeff

With a fixed full, I don't have to clean choke tube threads. Thats worth something to me, cause I'll shoot full choke anyway.

Jeff, just giving you some guff. I have so many guns with Briley choke tubes, I have to be careful which choke tubes I grab. Fortunately, I have 3 that have .735 bores, and their all Winchesters, so I'm somewhat "flexible".

Wish I had time to hand lap some chokes.Just find that with a handful of chokes my bore gauge and a few minutes I can get very close and if pushed , make what you want happen. Jeff

All I did was offer a barrel for sale. Then here comes a S A comment from someone not involved. Opinions vary and since there are tens or maybe hundreds of thousands of 1100 Step rib barrels out there ,they are nothing rare. I have had and sold a dozen in the past year most unaltered. This barrel will shoot with them. As for a Model 12 altered or an 1100 ? Thats like comparing Watermelons to walnuts. I dont confuse collector grade guns with plain shooters. Anyone with altered guns wanting to give them away,I will send a Postage paid box. LOL and Happy New Year. Jeff

A competent person wuth a bore mike will tell you whats going on in the Model 12 . Then duplicate it with a tube in your other guns. Jeff

At times it,s hard to tell some people anything . On a post the other day someone said choke tubes are no good because they swell in the barrel when shot . Quality tubes make a shotgun better . I have Wilkinson in my gun and it shoots very well .

What does it cost to buy a 26 inch tubed barrel? about 200 or maybe a little more. a clean 30 inch fixed full step rib(Unaltered) will bring from 175 to 275 depending on a number of factors. I would say that 200 dollars to 250 for a real clean one is pretty typical. I bought an ugly one a while back for 150 or 175? forget which.. It had a botched shell catcher job on the extension. No Big deal to me as the targets don't care how ugly the extension is. Some guys want perfect and some what functional at a discount. I have both(ugly & like new ) but don't need both when it comes right down to it. Lots of blowhards talk about how they can buy them all day long for 150.00 dollars and they are full of shit. P.S I agree with the choke tube guy even if his reading comprehension is poor. You can do about anything if you have a bore gauge. Jeff
