Can anyone tell me approximately how long the V-shaped hammer springs (like on an SKB O/U) will last before breaking? If they do break, is it difficult or expensive to replace them?

    Thanks,

Thanks. I have an older (1997) Weatherby (made by SKB). Would the procedure be the same on it? Any advice about whether I should replace the hammer springs on it or just wait and see what happens?

I have about 8,000 to 9,000 rounds thru the gun. I haven't shot it much in the past 7 or 8 years, but I'm thinking of having release triggers put in it so I can resume shooting it.

BTW, would the presence of release triggers complicate the replacement of the hammer springs?
