I have a few pounds each of Vihtavouri N310 and Win 231. I'd like to use it up loading some light 7/8 ounce loads using AA hulls and WAA12L wads.

I haven't found much loading info for N310 (only for Fiocchi hulls, primers, etc) and none for Win 231 (thought it is a fast pistol powder and should work in principle.)

Is there any hope for this? Or should I just go buy more Titewad?

    Thanks,

    Victor

Those are pistol powders & very fast burning. Be very careful & follow a powder company receipe exactly. Pressures can go up quickly even with 7/8.
Call the powder companies & ask if they have a receipes/reccommendations that are not listed.

I remember loading data for 12Ga with 231 back in 70s or early 80s.

Find a pal that loads target pistol ammo and make him a screaming deal on the 231 & N310 then go buy some actual shotgun powder that has a bunch of data to support it. Why mess around and take risks trying to save a couple of saw bucks?

Great pistol powders. I would find someone who could use it for it's intended purpose and gift or trade it. Very little shotshell data for the N310 and none for the W231. That could be an indication of their suitability. I would suggest buying more Titewad, if that is what has worked for you. I'd also look at Promo, since it is a versatile and economical powder. Take a look at some data at <a href="http://www.alliantpowder.com/"

I have some VV310 data and it doesn't look like a very suitable 7/8oz load. Not a clue abt the Win 231.

Trading it off makes the most sense.
