    Highest since 1983.

Also did you catch Obama's new definition of rich? His bill calls for less deductions on individuals earning more than 200,000dollars a year and married couples earning 250,000 and over.
Less deductions equal higher taxes paid and samll businesses which fall in this bracket will be hardest hit, thus, less likely they will hire people.

    You go Obama! Yaaayyyyy!

"Poverty" is apparently a little different than in the past. Nowadays, a "poor" person feels he is entitled to 3 squares, free medical care, a roof over his head, HVAC, 2 or 3 cell phones, widescreen TV with cable, XBox, gold teeth, designer sneakers, etc.

APrice, well sure your right. Some 75% of the "poor" in this country have a car, a/c in home and cable TV.

    Some 50% have a computer.

Some 40% have a flat screen tv, Internet and an XBox or Playstation III game system.

The reason the government puts out these poverty numbers is so they can put forth the social programs they want to help the "poor"

What we must do is turn these numbers against the Fed, any way we can and let them know we are not stupid.

We do have to be careful and remember Obama wants to make us all poor.

15%, well that means those slightly above poverty would be 30% in my guesstimation

Yes he was, with a Democrat House and Senate. He had to fight for a couple years of his 1st term to get the tax cuts he wanted, then it took a couple more for them to take effect and clean up the mess Jimmy Carter left him, including 22% interest rates.

That's a good one, a very thinly veiled attempt of the Blame Game.

In other words: It's ALL Reagans fault..........LOL

As a side note, pay attention to the reports on the homeless in relation to what president is in office at the time.

If it is a Republican President, you will see new report after news report about plight of the homeless.

When a Democrat is the president, neigh a word about it.

If Bush did leave the mess, its too bad the Democrats could not find a man smart enough to clean it up.....................hell it would have been nice if they even had found a man, period.

Left or Right, our jobs have moved offshore. THE only way to get them back is Tariff all goods made outside the USA. Trump is the only one talking like this.

Tariffs can also be levied by other countries who import our goods, thus throwing more Americans out of work.

The only way we can get jobs back into this country is to make it business friendly, and you don't do that with mountains of regulations that makes it too expensive to hire people and have the 2nd highest tax rate on business in the nation.

I had Fox News on today, they have been running a week long series called Regulation Nation, reporting on all the regulations of the different government agencies that strangle business with rules, day after day. One thing that really caught my attention, was that the average cost for an employer with 10 employees to conform to all government regulations, cost that employer an average of $10,000.00 per employee. WHY?????

Any expense an employer incurrs is passed on to the consumer, with such expense covered by increasing the price of the product or service, until such a time the price of the product or service, can no longer be affordable or competitive, then the employer does something drastic, like moving jobs out of the country.

All these protections the Government provides comes at a cost, so you can have your minimum wage, Davis-Bacon laws, Sarbaines-Oxley laws, health insurance, overtime payment, employer sponsored retraining in case of layoff, unemployment insurance, whatever, but the day might come when you don't have a job because of all of that. How are you better off????

What we are witnessing right now, could very well be the beginning of the end.

Obama says that 15.1% can't be so, he was going to go on vacation and think about it ... He said he was still tired from tracking down Osama bin Laden and taking him out, he thanked the Navy Seals for backing him up ... Them Obama's loves them vacations but don't care for the people who are paying for them, namely the American Tax Payer ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
