    Editor's Note: The following report is excerpted from Jerome Corsi's Red Alert, the premium online newsletter published by the current No. 1 best-selling author, WND staff writer and columnist. Red Alert subscriptions are $99 a year or $9.95 per month for credit card users. Annual subscribers will receive a free autographed copy of "The Late Great USA," a book about the careful deceptions of a powerful elite who want to undermine our nation's sovereignty.

    A California "sanctuary city" has fallen victim to illegal immigration – going bankrupt and firing all of its public employees, Jerome Corsi's Red Alert reports.

    The city of Maywood, Calif., hit the budget wall after it decided not only to be a sanctuary city, but to be a completely "safe haven" for illegal aliens seeking protection from deportation.

    "Predictably, mainstream-media newspapers, including the Financial Times in London, chose to present Maywood as a victim to the recession, rather than to tell the whole story – that Maywood fell victim to illegal immigration," Corsi wrote.

    "Crushed by the recession and falling tax revenues, the city is disbanding the police force and firing all public-sector employees," Matthew Garrahan wrote in the Financial Times, never mentioning that illegal immigration was the problem.

    Maywood is a small town comprising only about 1.2 square miles on the southern border of Los Angeles. More than 96 percent of its residents are Hispanic. The town's official population is listed at 29,000 but may be nearly 45,000 when illegal aliens living in Maywood are counted.

    In January 2006, Maywood's city council passed a resolution declaring that the city would not enforce any federal law such as H.R. 4557 that sought to declare illegal immigrants to be felons.

    More aggressive even than sanctuary laws, this new resolution prohibited Maywood police from being involved in any immigration-enforcement actions undertaken by federal, state or county authorities.

    On April 11, 2006, in writing the book titled "Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America's Borders," Jim Gilchrist and Corsi interviewed Maywood Mayor Thomas Martin by telephone.

    In the shocking interview available at Red Alert, the mayor strongly suggested the city of Maywood was willing to defy any federal law demanding that the police get directly involved in enforcing immigration laws.

    For the full interview with Maywood Mayor Thomas Martin, read Jerome Corsi's Red Alert, the premium, online intelligence news source by the WND staff writer, columnist and author of the New York Times No. 1 best-seller, "The Obama Nation."

    Red Alert's author, whose books "The Obama Nation" and "Unfit for Command" have topped the New York Times best-sellers list, received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in political science in 1972. For nearly 25 years, beginning in 1981, he worked with banks throughout the U.S. and around the world to develop financial services marketing companies to assist banks in establishing broker/dealers and insurance subsidiaries to provide financial planning products and services to their retail customers.

    In this career, Corsi developed three different third-party financial services marketing firms that reached gross sales levels of $1 billion in annuities and equal volume in mutual funds. In 1999, he began developing Internet-based financial marketing firms, also adapted to work in conjunction with banks.

    Just an abstract problem, except for those living with it. And now the economics are so large it can't be avoided any longer. Too Late?

    PBS did a Frontline special in the late 90's which highlighted areas around the country which "allowed" illegals free reign. Towns have been decimated from Long Island to the mid-west etc.. Police / prosecutors turned their backs on the most simple regulations such as housing, work laws.

    The pro-invasion side doesn't want to recognize the "Ellis Island" factor. The Dems. want cheap, dirty votes.

    Get used to it. By their own racist definition, "the race" is going to take over America one city and one state at a time. Because of modern feminism whites don't have enough children anymore to even replace themselves. The white race is dying around the world. The world is turning browner. The third world doesn't have the problems of feminism and political correctness to hold them back. Hispanics are younger and have more children. It is going to be interesting to see how the social programs here and in europe hold up when they are being supported by poor workers from third world countries. The baby boomers and their few children rejected the old ideas of family. Payback is going to be hell. Land has always belonged to those willing to occupy it and hold it. That never changes. The future of Europe is Muslim and the future of America is hispanic, more specifically, Mexicans.

    HF, I would also add that the whites are not adding to their own population due to the high cost of having and raising them,,,,pretty expensive if you don't sit on welfare,,,,college of $100K+, health care costs etc.,,,,and with many producers marying and starting families later in life, they don't have the 3-7 kids like we used to....

    Highflyer has it right. I'm glad I'm old. We have really left our kids and grandkids a mess. Can you imagine being a 20 year old white male and the future he has or I should say - doesn't have. The schools in this country that these invaders are sending their hordes of kids to, teach only 2 things well: a) we (schools) don't have enough money, b) every problem in the world was caused by the white man

    For those of you that have never been to Maywood: It looks like it was uprooted from a 5th world country and dropped into Los Angeles. Of course, Los Angeles looks like it was dropped in from a 3rd world country. So, what's the difference?

    This is the most interesting thing I've read in a long time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming.

    I have always heard about this democracy countdown..

    It is interesting to see it in print.

    God help us, not that we deserve it.

    Long Do We Have?

    About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler,

    a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh ,
    had this to say about the fall of the

    Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

    'A democracy is always temporary in nature;

    it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.'

    'A democracy will continue to exist up until the time
    that voters discover they can vote themselves
    generous gifts from the public treasury.'

    From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates

    who promise the most benefits from the public treasury,

    with the result that every democracy will finally collapse

    due to loose fiscal policy,

    which is always followed by a dictatorship.'

    The average age of the world's greatest civilizations
    from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years'

    During those 200 years, those nations always progressed
    through the following

    from bondage to spiritual faith;

    from spiritual faith to great courage;

    from courage to liberty;

    from liberty to abundance;

    from abundance to complacency;

    from complacency to apathy;

    from apathy to dependence;

    from dependence back into bondage'

    Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University
    School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota
    points out some interesting facts concerning the

    2008 Presidential election:

    Number of States won by:

    Democrats: 19

    Republicans: 29

    Square miles of land won by:

    Democrats: 580,000
    Republicans: 2,427,000

    of counties won by:

    Democrats: 127 million

    Republicans: 143 million Murder
    rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
    Democrats: 13.2

    Republicans: 2.1

    Professor Olson adds:

    'In aggregate, the map of the territory the
    Republican won was mostly the land owned by the
    taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat
    territory mostly encompassed those citizens living
    in government-owned tenements and living off various
    forms of government welfare...' Olson believes the
    United States
    is somewhere between the 'complacency and
    apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of
    democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's
    population already having reached the 'governmental
    dependency phase.

    Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA
    in fewer than five

    Sorry, Jim, we are not a Democracy. Thank Goodness. If that were the case the largest population group would control the country.

    The United States is, indeed, a republic, not a democracy. Accurately defined, a democracy is a form of government in which the people decide policy matters directly--through town hall meetings or by voting on ballot initiatives and referendums. A republic, on the other hand, is a system in which the people choose representatives who, in turn, make policy decisions on their behalf. The Framers of the Constitution were altogether fearful of pure democracy. Everything they read and studied taught them that pure democracies "have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths" (Federalist No. 10).

    I agree with the Rock. and although we are a Republic, I am sad to say that we are very close to becoming a "spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property"
