(Very condensed version) In the March 14 edition of the Wall Street Journal was a full page article (Page W3) about a left-wing group called the Constitutional Accountability Center which wants to return the 14th Amendment to its original intent, that of the Founding Fathers (to broaden individual rights), and they want to use a gun-rights case which is working its way up the appeals ladder. They could have used a social issue or a gay rights issue but they feel that a gun rights case has a better chance of winning. This is what the ACLU should have done decades ago! It's an interesting article. Anyway, it's refreshing to know that there are some left-wingers who can think for themselves (maybe they're so far left-wing, that they're right wing!).

Interesting concept in that document, that of the fact that freeing the slaves amounted to a government redistribution of wealth.

    Never ran across that before.

A liberal organization striking out at gun control, is that an oxymoron?

Good call EE. My Grandaughter is just starting to see the real thing. She's in her second year at Mars Hill, a Baptist College that has no left wing agenda. Thank God such schools exist. J.Woolsey
