UPS and FED EX have had the next-day Air policy on handguns for several years.

If you don't tell them you are shipping a handgun (machined parts) and package is lost/damaged? They will not pay claim.

It is often cheaper to get an FFL to send handgun for you. They can use Post Office Flat Rate.

They, UPS and FEDX did this years ago because they didn't want to address the "five finger discount" that was going on under their noses.

By doing this tactic, they are able to limit the number of employee's "hands" that will touch the package.
