Try it, you will like it. It leaves a little residue in the barrel.

Try A Fed Primer It Might Shoot Cleaner.

I've used a similar load load, but with a different primer and wad. I had horrible flames out of my ejection port at night with several primers, including the Remington 209. Going to the Federal 209A seemed to be the cure. It also worked better in my cold weather testing. My load was the Figure 8 wad, 23.0 grains of Unique, Federal 209A primer, 1 1/8 oz of shot in the STS hull. It was a great load. If I remember correctly, it was up around 9000 PSI and burned pretty clean. The consistency was much better than some other primers I had tried. The Winchester 209 was a close second and gave a few fps higher velocities for some odd reason. I've used the Versalite Red wads with 22.5 grains and the Federal or Winchester primers as well for a great handicap load at around 1200 fps. Another grain of powder will get close to 1250 fps. Just double check that data before loading, since I'm working on memory and a good case of C.R.S.
