On a recent thread Jerbear posted a reference to Rep. John Conyers (D, MI).

Representative Conyers is an interesting fellow. He’s represented the 14th Congressional District of Michigan since 1965. The district includes Dearborn, most of northwest Detroit, the west burbs and the down river burbs. He has a self-admitted habit of NOT reading legislation on which he votes. Obummercare was a notable example but far from the only example.

Whatever else is true, Conyers is popular in his district. In the worst election performance of his 46 year tenure, Conyers was returned to the U.S. House by a 77% margin in 2010.

Conyers was one of six founding members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC). He has served as chairman of the group and is considered it’s “dean”.

To have any understanding of politics on a federal level and the current state of the democrat party, one simply MUST understand the nature of the CPC and the priorities of members like John Conyers. At present the CPC consists of 79 House democrats and one self-described socialist senator – Bernie Sanders (D, VT).

Representative Lynn Woolsey (D, CA)* has been a member of the U.S. House since 1993 and a CPC member since at least 1998. She is the self-described, “first former welfare mother to serve in Congress”. While serving as co-chair of the CPC, Representative Woolsey made the following statement in a Nov. 15, 2010 interview with the Huffington Post. “It is clear that we (the Progressive Caucus) represent the heart and soul of the Democratic Party.” Recoil Sissy agrees. Without any question, the Progressive Caucus is the dominant force in the Democratic Party.

    But back to Conyers...

During the 111th Congress (Jan. 2009 to Jan 2011) Conyers was the chair of the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary. He currently serves as the ranking democrat member in the 112th. Also known as the House Judiciary Committee, it is one of twenty standing House committees. Its primary responsibilities include oversight of the administration of justice in the federal court system.

Having a dedicated socialist leading this committee should scare the sh!t out of all of us. However, that assignment was just a tad ironic when Conyers’ wife Monica was convicted in federal court of receiving a series of bribes. At the time she was a sitting member of the Detroit City Council.

Among those brides was $69,500. It was a shake down she took in return for voting in favor of a lucrative City of Detroit contract for refuse hauling. In May of 2011 Mrs. Conyers was sentenced to 37 months in the slammer for those offences.

Felonies and corruption apparently run in her family. She pulled strings to land a job for her convicted felon brother (Reggie Esters) in the Detroit City Building Dept. He was later fired for excessive absenteeism. Who’d a thunk it, LOL?

Here’s the bottom line…. We've spent an enormous amount of time focused on the failings and shortcomings of Republican presidential candidates. Whatever shortcoming the GOP candidates may have, NONE OF THEM ARE AMERICA HATING SOCIALISTS.

While many of you argue with site dipsh!ts like mrskeet about the Tea Party, the socialist sons of b!tches of the Progressive Caucus are waging an absolute war of subversion against the U.S. Constitution and every institution and value that made America great.

Of course, Obummer is their socialist in chief. Whether packing the SCOTUS with leftist loons or leading the government take over of the auto industry, insurance giant AIG, or major banks, Obummer is leading the socialist charge.

Please DO NOT take my word for anything. Everything in this post is matter of public record. You can and SHOULD confirm it for yourself using reputable non-partisan websites. Govtrack.us is one example. It provides objective and strictly non-partisan information about members of Congress and the legislation they propose.

By all means, research the Congressional Progressive Caucus and its members. Look at their voting records on key legislation. You can also find summary data about their financial supporters. More on that shortly… You can also listen to their very own words on YouTube. Its astonishing what comes out of their mouths.

One final note. In the 2009 – 2010 election cycle, Conyers’ top four financial supporters were the Teamsters, the Boilermakers, the Carpenters and Joiners, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. In the 2007 – 2008 cycle, the Sheet Metal Workers was number one on the list.

As I’ve said before, it is your money. Donate it as you see fit. But here’s my point. If you understand and approve of how your PACs spend your volutary contribuions, how do you sleep at night?

Understand, I don’t expect much out of clueless boobs like bigbadbob. Guys like him simply parrot the ‘party line’. However, there are some genuine stand up and respectable union members on this site. Halfmile is one of many. As I’ve noted below, his CCW union was Representative Woolsey’s third largest financial supporter in the 2009 – 2010 election cycle.

I would respectfully challenge the stand up guys to explain why they are voluntarily donating to PACs that support these socialist rotters. Why in the name of the Almighty are you allowing your leadership to provide massive financial support to people who are proud and persistent enemies of the country you love?

Read more about Representative Woolsey at the non-partisan website, govtrack.us and http://keywiki.org/index.php/Lynn_Woolsey

Among a great many disturbing things you’ll discover is that she sponsored a fund raiser for the U.S. Communist Party in 1999. She was a sitting member of the House at the time. You’ll also discover that the Communications Workers of America, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and Teamsters Union were three of Woolsey’s top five financial individual supporters in the 2009 - 2010 election cycle. Industrial unions, transportation unions, and misc unions were numbers 1, 3, and 4 respectively on Woolsey’s top five industrial/trade group financial supporters.

    So here are my preferences for President in 2012 in order;

    1. Santorum

    2. Gingrich

    3. Romney

    4. Paul

    5. Bachman

    9999. Obummer

That is only my choice. So, if all of you that are on this site claim to be America Lovers and "Trapshooters", why on this earth would you ever even entertain the idea of voting for an IDIOT that has publicly stated that he wants to take your guns? That just goes to show that there are a lot of people that vote that don't have the capacity to think rationally. I feel sorry for those folks. But I do know for a fact that I am 60 years old and have shot trap and hunted since I was a young teenager. I INTEND ON KEEPING MY GUNS AND LOVING THIS COUNTRY FOR A LOT MORE YEARS.

Rep. John Conyers voted for every anti-gun bill that was put before him.

It is hard to understand how they get away with what they do. It was said that someone took 48 million dollars out of the Sportsman's fund and gave it to Bill Clinton to promote anti-gun bills for Old Lady Brady and there was never anything done about it. There was a investigation but it all disappeared. Strange how those things are sweep under the rug isn't it. In case you don't know where the Sportsman's fund gets there money, it's the excise tax on guns, ammo, fishing equipment and sporting goods. In other words we where paying for them to try to take our guns away.

Sissy I agree 100% with you.

Another vote for Sissy's post. ++

So much is done behind closed doors and in the dark that most of the public never knows about it. Unions and big business buy most elections and candidates with huge cash donations. Those that vote their color most times don't even care. (ie: Samuel L Jacksons recent remarks during an interview)

This election is a pivotal turning point for our freedoms or loss of.....
