Just great. Even worse than GM management are the UAW and the government at making anything work.

Being a retired Salaried employee with 34 years of working for General Motors -- I can't hardly wait to see what the UAW and Obama come up with in the way of a Vehicle -- it will be an Obominable Abomination

The U.A.W. should start some training sessions on how to flip burgers at McDonald's.

If the UAW is going to own 89%, would they not be responsible to pay back the taxpayers 89% of the billions given GM so far. When I buy GM stock I have to pay for it, so should they.

    Karl Marx quote

" Democracy is the road to socialism. "

    I am totally depressed,
one of the most famous Trade BRAND NAMES " GM" run by UNIONS & Government

I guess Karl Marks is smiling today looking at the situation in United States today

,I guess Canadian government will do the same in Canada ,

Large corporations, owned by the Government & Unions .

    This cannot work

What will it look like in ten years

    I cant imagine????

That would be the end of GM. I would never buy a car from them. Where are the checks and balances? Thwe union only wants more pay and benefits and the customer be damned. I hope the Japs (or Ford) makes a good SUV to replece my GMC Yukon XL.

You guys haven't read the whole article. The money that was spent for the shares to make 89% was in part the money that was supposed to have been in escrow for welfare costs of the union members in their retirement. That was part of the negotiated benefits in the unions package. Lets hope those that are retired now and those still working for GM get some kind of welfare benefit for the years they spent on the lines in those factories. Dan

I hate unions. Unions take what would otherwise be sane conservative voters and turn them into supporters of the most liberal socialist politicians there are. I will never again buy a General Motors product and do my best to trash them to friends and family every chance I get. I hope they go down the drain.

Highflyer you need to channel your emotions to something you can do something about and not let those who belong to unions affect your life the way you are letting this happen. Hate is a strong word and a worse emotion. Get a grip and don't let an errant emotion take any kind of control on how your life is lived. Dan

I can look at the map and see what unions have done. The regions of this country where unions are the strongest have gone blue. That while their economies are being destroyed. I hope everything is bad for General Motors from here on out. I do hate unions.

Rush had this one nailed. He just played his prediction that this would happen when Obama took office. He has the best instincts of any commentator out there. Obama and the unions owning the auto companies. What a team.

I traded my GM stock for Ford stock at $1.75 each. I love my GMC pickup but when the government and the union get involved in running the company long term I am out. I don't know if I will ever buy a Ford. Maybe my 2004 GMC will last me for the next 30 years.

GM is already a history lesson. Only UAW workers will buy the cars because the only good union is YOUR union. Everyone elses union just raise the prices on the stuff you buy.

Do a little research on the British automoblie industry in the 70's and the British motorcycle industry...especially the Meriden Co-op that built Triumph's in the mid to late 70's. The proposed union experiment at GM will fail. It is a sad day for me. My family has been loyal GM customers foe generations. No more!

Maybe ownership of that Pink Elephant might be what it takes to see that the years of the Unions "eating of all the profits" was no way to do business and there is no way they can sell cars with the quality and production costs of the past and survive...I'm sorry I just don't think an un-educated assembly line monkey deserves to make as much as skilled professionals and tradesman...they should be paid what they are realistically worth...because lets face it...most of them could be replaced by a whole new monkey crew with very little fuss at all...bring on the hate mail
