I agree with this but I also agree with a Democracy and guess what? The tea party nut cases have caused registered Repubublicans to stay home and the result is that the voters that arent earning any income are deciding elections.

A true democracy is mob rule, majority rules. Regardless of your inherent GOD given rights, if a majority votes that they want what you have, they will have it. I prefer the representative republic that our forefathers originally intended. There are certain things (rights, roughly 10 of them) that no one can take away no matter how big the mob is.

Every democracy has and will fail, as the non contributers out breed the contributers. That is why our Fore Fathers set this place up as a Representative Republic.
We were supposed to vote in representation who maintains the ultimate goals of the Republic as clearly spelled out in the Consitiution. The socialists, who are unable to see the wisdom in the plan continue to buy the votes of the simple by allowing them to become wards of the state, thus enslaving them to vote socialist.
A dualistic society can work quite a while, until the non productive scum grows larger than the productive citizens, and the parasites eat the host.

The only way to prevent this collapse is exactly what APrice contributed. Only those with a vested interest can make decisions in the business of a company. ie: If you are not productive enough to take care of yourself AND contibute some for the joint responsiblities of the society, you don't get to vote.

Dirt Stirrer -- under your majority rules scenario Al Gore would have been elected President instead of Bush 43. And under that scenario you have to wonder how the Presidential Daily Brief of August 6th, 2001 would have affected history after not falling on Bush 43's deaf ears. Our country would be multi trillions less in debt because we wouldn't have been involved in a 12 year war in two separate middle east countries.

If the dims wouldn't have "fixed" the vote in florida, there would have been no recount necessary. But they "knew" the fix was in, but they screwed it up, and couldn't understand how they could have lost. Thus, the hanging chad fiasco.

Next thing you know we'll be hearing how Bush and Cheney flew the airliners by remote control into the Trade Centers or they steered Katrina into Nawlins. ;-)

States rights died in the civil war. The Republic was buried with the 17th amendment.

So, a person must pay property tax and or income tax to vote? A bit simplistic and shortsighted idea, don't you think?

What about the retiree that has worked most of a lifetime and now lives in an apartment (no property taxes paid) and is forced to rely on social security (non-taxable up to a certain $$ level)?

Retirees get crapped on enough without taking away their privilege and duty to vote!

    Gene,

What evidence can you provide, to support the contention that registered Republicans are staying home from voting for MODERATE candidates like Mitt Romney, because of the mere existence of the Tea Party?

I'll make this easy: not a shred, because this is just another one of your kook personal theories.

Greenberg's focus group data for the Democrats proved that the Bain Capital ads caused republican-leaning people to stay home, not because of anything to do with the Tea Party, but rather because the Democrat attack-ads succeeded in convincing these people that Mitt Romney was TOO RICH.

Mitt Romney being rich has nothing to do with the Tea Party.

You know about as much about elections, as you do about the Constitution.

Buzz Gun---The tea party is viewed as nut cases by the vast vast majority of Americans and that is why you relate to them. Not only Karl Rove but nearly every political commentator recognizes the Republican problem of how to distant themselves from these kooks

If you havent been paying attention- the Republican party is in decline and if they cant get rid of this problem they have then things look bleak. The next elections might be the greatest shock to the two party system America has ever seen

Just like you have buried your head in the sand, Buzz gun about states passing restrictive gun measures you are clearly uneducated on this political problem with the nut cases that the tea party are deemed to be ( I am not saying that is true) and your understanding of the Constitution is limited to what you read on nut case chat sites. Sorry telling it like it is.

Maybe you should put your tin hat back on and howl at the moon, claiming Obama isnt president again as you did for months-or years actually.

    Regards from Iowa

    Gene
