Two Claybuster Figure 8 wads. Difference?

    Claybuster makes two Figure 8 wads, CB8118-12, and CB3118-12A. Anybody know the difference?

    Hmmm, both are listed as intended for 1 1/8 oz and 1 1/4 oz loads but alleged optimum for 1 1/8 oz loads. Both are listed as performing best in tapered hulls. The only difference I can see is the shape of the recoil absorbing center area where we are used to the "figure 8" on the 8118 and the more squat shape on the 3118A. Good question as to why the difference.....breakemall....Bob Dodd

    They changed to section between the base and shot cup from a diamond shape 3118's to an oval or circular shape 8118's. I can't see any difference.

    The "AR" is the red one for straight walled cases. A call to Claybuster might be in order.
