I recall hearing years ago that Rem. would deny warranties if those were used and the receiver cracked behind the bolt slot. Not that you have to worry about that with a 30 year old gun. Don't know if that was true or not. It would add a bit of weight to the bolt though. I like the music wire fix myself. Hap

Used a "tuning fork" catcher in my 1100 for years while shooting skeet some 20+ years ago. Had to remove it to shoot doubles. Have run 50K+ shell through it with no problems, though not all with the catcher. If you do use the tuning fork catcher and remove it for doubles, you need to be aware that you can lose the plate, spring and ball that mounts in the bolt and retains the operating handle.

As for the piano wire, the bbl extention has to be drilled in two places over the ejection port area, front and back. The wire, about 1-1/2" long, is mounted in the holes and bowed out over the ejection port +/- 1/4". The "bow" in the wire traps the rim on the case head and holds the empty shell till you remove it by hand. They work well but you need to keep a supply of them on hand as they can pop out at odd times. Once again, if you're shooting doubles, they must be removed.

Haven't seen the Morton Catcher mentioned above.

    Hope this helps some.

Try this one, hope this one shows up?

This is on a 1100 barrel. I think Tron the Troller installed this one? I used one for quite some time when I shot the 1100. Hap
