Gotta love those TSA agents. Now they not only have gotten American travelers POed but they now found a way to create an embarrassing international incident!

Is this agency reminiscent of the Keystone Cops???

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — India's sari-clad ambassador was pulled from an airport security line and patted down by a TSA agent in Mississippi after attending a conference, an act one state agency official called "unfortunate."

I would like to see a video of the inspection. We may have a different opinion of the outrage if we were to see the actual inspection. What kind of inspection would she have gotten in Israel or some country unfriendly to India?

Right on Brother: Whose side is our Media on? This is only an international incident if we allow it to be so. If you don't want a scan.......don't fly into our out of the USA.
Our news hungry media makes a big deal out of things we should simply shrug off and move on.

Same for the Wikileaks guy.....get some New Jersey Italian to pay him a visit. He is a terrible enemy and needs to be treated like one.

The media would love to see an airliner explode over a large city, it would give them high ratings for several days. They exist on controversy and drama, real or imagined.

I'd be interested to see what you have to say if and when (most likely more when then if) TSA decides to put naked body scanners in at trains, subways, and at other forms of public transportation, like there already talking about doing. How about a naked body scanner at the movie theater, or sports stadium? How about one at your grocery store? We can never been too careful you know???

How about being scanned while your sitting in your car in traffic? "Forbes magazine reported in September that the backscatter technology is already being deployed in vans to surreptitiously scan vehicles on the street."

You have to say when enough is enough.

I was lucky, when I flew to San Antonio for the World shoot in October, these machines were just being installed, but not operational yet in any of the airports I flew through. I'm pretty much of the opinion now that if I can't drive to it, I'm not going.

BTW, its not just for international travel, travel within the boarders is subject to the same scanning...

Skeet man, you can take anything to the ludicrous but what's the purpose? It doesn't prove that airplane travelers shouldn't be checked thoroughly. The risk is a little greater on air travel wouldn't you think?

Even though it hasn't been done thankfully, I would guess that being in a sports stadium with thousands of other people would/could be more risky than getting on an airplane, from a terrorist attack standpoint... If you are saying that air travel is riskier than other forms of travel, why are they proposing to install these scanners at subway stations, rail yards, ports, ect?

I'm all for whatever it takes and whatever works, those that don't like it can walk or run if they are in a hurry ... This is a different world thanks to those who made it that way on 9/11, now everyone has to pay for it in one way or the other ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Skeet, take the tin foil hat off. So what you are saying that the Xray machines are able to print out a visual picture of a naked woman, similar to what is seen in Playboy? Ummm, I have to say NOT!!!!!!!!!!

How about pedophiles who can't go down to their corner store and buy a kiddie-porn playboy? How about naked body scanner pictures of celebrities that would not otherwise be available?

No one has of yet addressed my concern about health issues.

Even the top libs don't want airport pat-downs: "Asked if she would be willing to submit to an airport frisk, Clinton laughed and admitted, "Not if I could avoid it. No, I mean who would?"

well from my understanding, based on reading the news about pedophiles being busted, I think they get all of their kiddie porn from the internet. And I don't think I ever heard of a magazine in the business of selling kiddie porn to begin with so you have no valid points on that issue. Additionally how is a pedophile going to download a TSA body scan of a kid? Does TSA post these on a public website? I think not....

tinfoil hats should be checked at the door.........they say you can get a good dose of radiation from your cell phone...and that has not stopped people from using cell phones and there has not been a big outcry on cell phones emitting radiation....

"And I don't think I ever heard of a magazine in the business of selling kiddie porn to begin with so you have no valid points on that issue." Apparently that went RIGHT over your head. My point was that there were no kiddie porn mags, so naked body scanners could be an easy source for pedophiles, in response to your statement that people would prefer a playboy magazine to naked body scanner images.

With the quality of vetting that goes into choosing cabinet members (tax cheats), how intensely do you think they check out TSA agents? I'm sure more than one occasion some TSA agent has gotten their sick jollies out of giving someone an "enhanced" (nice word for invasive) patdown, or checking out whats underneath their clothing on the naked body scanner.

"Additionally how is a pedophile going to download a TSA body scan of a kid?" How did airport security download naked pictures of the actor in the above linked story? Any time you have a computer, and a media hookup (USB, SD card, CD/DVD burner, floppy drive, ect), there is the opportunity for transfer of data to a mobile memory format. In fact, you don't even really need a hookup anymore with wifi and bluetooth.

BTW, interesting in the demo photo you showed of the naked body scanner image, all the items that are being illustrated (2 handguns, and what I assume is a knife) all would have been picked up on a metal detector.
