    Jetson, what will probably reinstated will be the 1994 GCA. It will be literally impossible to ban semi-automatic firearms. I detest the socialist clown's rhetoric as much as anyone, but neither he, nor Congress will be able to ban guns which have been legal in the United States for over one hundred years.

    A helluva lot of AR15's just got jacked up by 50%. Stripper lower receivers from some dealers went from $120 to $180 this morning.

    Sportshot, quote: <i>"There was a recent Supreme Court ruling that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right. Thank Scalia, Roberts and Alito. They saved us. There is not going to be a Federal gun ban, worry about these idiotic state legislators."</i><br>

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!<br>

    Looks like Mister Sorento has another fish on!<br>
    <br>
    In case you didn't notice, the 5-4 Heller ruling plainly stated that REASONABLE restrictions were OK, particualrly on very dangerous firearms like machineguns. This gives the anti's all they need to try to claim so-called "assault weapons" are soooo dangerous that a reasonable restriction would be to ban them.<br>
    <br>
    And when the case goes before the Supreme Court, that ONE VOTE margin will be gone, bcause Mister Sorento will have replaced enough retiring justices to make sure there will not be a pro-Second Amendment majority ever again in many of our lifetimes, and for those who will be here longer, it won't matter because the Second Amendment will be gone anyway.<br>

    By the way, where are sjk, chessney, otnot, etc. and all the MoveOn.org weasels?
    I bet they just ran to their local recruiting office to volunteer for the Armed Forces so they can implement Obama's Worldview in far away places...I imagine patriotic liberals like Seann Penn, Matt Damon and Michael Moore will join the Armed Forces to carry out the wishes of their Commander in Chief...No, I didn't think so.......mostly RED STATE young people do the BLEEDING and the DYING for our country...

    Which presents an interesting question: Shouldn't his fanatical BLUE STATE supporters be doing the bleeding and the dying in far away places to promote his San Francisco values?

    I would take most any bet that the AWB will be back before the close of 2009. Probably will have some additions too. Even the backers of that bill know that it has zero effect on reducing violent crime but it is viewed as 'progress' in a feel good sort of way. Big magazines and certain cosmetic features don't make a firearm more dangerous than its politically correct counterpart because firearms are inanimate. The problems come from the humans that misuse the firearm and dealing with that reality is apparently more than we can handle.

    I think there will be a lot more opposition to the attempts to elimiate CCW permits at the federal level which most certainly are headed this way. That will be the bonafide' assault on the second amendment.

    It will be the ammo. They will tax it so high that we will be disarmed just because we cannot afford to buy the ammunition for it! Stock up now.

    I'm sick of hearing how they CAN"T take our guns away. They may or may not TAKE them but making them illegal is quite simple. With a large Deomocrat majority in congress and the new "Commrade Chairman" leader foaming at the mouth to sign ANY anti gun law into existance, it is only a matter of time. What they WILL do is bring back the so called "assualt weapons ban", thus banning many semi auto rifles because of cosmetics only. Then they will EXPAND it to include a whole NEW list of guns including a laundry list of semi auto pistols. The ONLY hope to prevent it is IF the Republican minority has the guts to filibuster! The REAL problem is that it is a sure bet Obama will stack the Supreme court with liberals appointed for LIFE. These will probaby REVERSE the past pro gun rulings of the present justices. Then it's Kattie bar the door!

    Licensing the possesion of more than 100 rds. of ammunition(or the components to produce same....) This will be an "Arsenal Control License". The media will sell this one with the tag line..."we don't want to interfere with legitimate sportsman, but the government should know who has mass quantities of ammunition at all times...to protect the children". It will start out at some reasonable figure...maybe $50.00 per year...then ratchet up, depending upon the "Class of Arsenal" you are keeping. Bigger aresenal...higher fees. Some have already called for a cap @ $1000.00.
    Unlicensed possesion of more than the minimum limits to be a Federal Felony. Suspected violations to be addressed using Homeland Security Dept. sweeping investigative powers..."we have a legitimate right to know if terrorist cells are forming within our borders...to protect the children...".
