How can you remove Tru-Oil that has been applied to a shotgun stock?

The original finish was an oil finish; and I want to return to it, not the gloss of the Tru-oil.

Tru-oil does not need to be gloss..it can be finished to a nice satin oil finish

Everybody's right. True oil gives a stock great protection and the finish can be anything you want. Just buff it down for a satin finish.

Remove true oil with paint remover and steel wool. Refinish with Tung Oil.
