The Tri State Shooting Sports Foundation is a tax exempt chartiable organization devoted to providing support for youth shooting in the Texas Panhandle, West and Northwest Texas, Western New Mexico, and Eastern Oklahoma.

Still in its infancy, it has provided funding to local 4 H groups, boy scouts, underwritten junior trophies and target / facility costs for juniors at Amarillo Gun Club events, and it is providing trophies and shells for Zone 1 Junior and Sub Junior winners. Is is also supporting the AGC's efforts to provide reduced target costs for juniors in ATA events. We have also provided some support to the AIM program in hopes of calling attention to and encouraging the ATA to return the favor to Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico youth programs.

Thanks to a generous donation from Trish and Jerry O'Connor, the foundation has been able to acquire its own Pat Trap, currently located under a lease / storage agreement in Amarillo, also conditioned on Amarillo's making a minimum number of shoot dates for youth / junior events and practice.

As funding permits, it hopes to expand to provide direct help to youth programs in the rest of its service area. The foundation also has historical preservation and safety education among its stated purposes.

At this weekend's ATA shoot, the two handicaps will feature Lewis options to support the foundation - please play these options if you are at the Amarillo shoot!

If you would like to provide direct support, feel free to send a donation to Tri State Shooting Sports Foundation, P O Box 1750, Amarillo TX 79105. All donations, large and small, will go directly to support these youth shooting initiatives.

It is a 501(c)(3) organization so donations should be deductible for most taxpayers.

Thanks from the Tri State Shooting Sports Foundation and the Amarillo Gun Club.
