I know that Giacomo says to use Tri-Flow, but could someone who has knowledge of these two spray lubricants please provide a comparison of them as regards their use on a MX8?

I doubt scientific testing on guns would prove one superior over the other.
As for myself, I'd rather support an American gun-maker than an oil/lubricant company.

Here's two links; one for Tri-Flow and the other for Rem Oil. Each will give you access to the MSDS (Material Data Safety Sheet) for each. This will give you a comparison of components and properties.

    http://www.triflowlubricants.com/resources/

    http://www.remington.com/pages/news-and-resources/safety-center/material-safety-data-sheets.aspx

Also, a Google search of "tri-flow vs rem oil" should produce enough results to keep anybody occupied for a while.
