Tri County Trap Club will be starting its new target year on Sunday, October 2nd. The club is going to more cash payouts this year. The new Lucky dog is one such program. Each monthly shoot will have $810 in prizes for classes and yardage. That is $400 in cash and $410 in prizes (monthly buckles, sterling money clips etc.) The $810 is the regular shoot pay out not including options. The optional Lewis is usually $250 to $300 and there are handicap jackpots for each yardage group.

Like most clubs, it’s about the annual championships but Tri County provides a great monthly value along the way. Thirty two shooters earned buckles in the annual awards program. This program provides a buckle for the champion in each class or yardage group for singles, doubles, handicap and HOA. The annual awards program is a best of 9 shoot format. You need 9 shoots to qualify.

In addition Tri County has a 12 point buckle program. Each win in an event earns you 1 championship point. Earn 12 during the year to qualify. First time qualifiers earn the buckle. Each additional year that you qualify a diamond enhancement is added along with the year earned engraved along side of it. There were twenty eight qualifiers for the 12 point personal achievement program. There were eight new first time qualifiers and twenty existing buckles received diamonds.

See the complete rules on the club web site. Membership applications can also be found on the web site under the application tab. It’s the start of a new year and a very good time to join.

    Have fun,
    John

John, is that the first Sunday of this October? I went to the website and it says 2012. What time should I be there for signups? And how much will I pay, considering I'm not a member?

Tri County Trap Club has both an easy speed lane and a pre-squad method to make it smooth for you. It's too late to use speed lane now but pre-squad is still open.

Go to our web site: http://www.tricountytrap.com and click the Pre-squad tab. Then either click the email link or phone Margot to get on a squad.

    Pre-squad and/or Speed Lane

Speed Lane means both: you are on a squad "and" prepaid

Your shoot ticket will be completed in advance. Just check in at the speed lane table, get your copy and you're good to go.

Pre-squad is the regular sign up line with reserved squad and post.

Please provide all your events including the Lewis and Handicap Jackpot to Margot for speed Lane calculations. This will allow the tickets to be completed in advance.

Let us know your preferred or Regular Club Squad and Post number for Singles and Handicap and we'll do our best to assign those positions to you.

Yardage Rules for Handicap Events 18, 19 and 20 Yards No more than 1 yard between adjacent shooter, no more than 2 yard total different in the squad
21 thru 27 Yards No more than 2 yard between adjacent shooter, no more than 3 yard total different in the squad

If you are shooting as a group please put your preferred Squad/Post in one email or phone call.

There's no need to request Squad/Post positions for Doubles. We shoot anytime walk-up Doubles until about noon. There is not a pre-squad for the Doubles event, but we will need to know if you are shooting Doubles.

Include any questions you may have in your emails or phone calls.

    John
