Trench Gun value?

    Got a neighbor who has a WWI trench gun 1897 Winchester in cosmoline--what is the value ---price range ---garbage to top notch---will be examining it if its worthwhile to look at---Phil

    Found this on a quick search, of course it has the cabela's mega mark up im sure. My dad had one, he sent all his info off to a winchester historical society club of some sort. Recieved a big write up. Where it was made for who when ect ect. My dads was made in 1940. Not as old as he thought it was. Wasin great shape. That gun kinda went missing. I believe he let it go for a quick profit? or a trade on another gun? blue book has it trench gun 700/3500 Trenchgun with military markings 1250/5800.

    If it is real- which most arent- this one might be
