What a terrific event - organized by Gary Olin, Clay Target Coach, George Mason University (GMU); hosted by Fairfax Rod & Gun Club, Manassas, VA. 120 shooters from a big bunch of Colleges/Universities/Military Academies! If you are in the area drop by FRGC and check out the college kids blasting them head-to
-head at Northern VA's finest 8-field gun club in unbelievable weather and club conditions. Hats-off to Gary and his GMU and FRGC team for a incredibly well-run and attended event. Kudos to Gary & Virginia, Club Manager Jaime Martin (back surgery just the other day for Pete;'s sake), Building & Grounds - Dick Jones, Betty & Lacy Farley, all the volunteers including Refs/Scorers, Chief Referees, Van & Connie's canteen, grill-meisters, helpers of every sort (Ron Kivett & crew, Danny Sirk and everybody), parents, Well-wishers, College Boosters, Coaches, and above all, those blessed young kids, blasting targets like no-tomorrow with a big, bright future guaranteed for every one of them, God Bless the USA!!!

Thanks for starting this thread, Anchorsteam. We had a great shoot with 12 colleges and universities in attendance. The schools included Vermont, Harvard, Yale, the USMA, the USNA, Delaware, Washington (Md.) College, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Virginia Military Institute, Radford, and George Mason. The Vermont team traveled the farthest (11 hours).

As you noted, we could not have done this without a lot of support from Fairfax Rod & Gun Club and the local shooting community. All in all, it was a great experience, and we're hoping to hold the fourth annual collegiate Eastern Regional Championships again next year.
