Hi All,
Last couple of years I have done some trap at the Silver Dollar but I was looking for a different venue for my next trip in Jan/Feb '14. I will be in the St. Pete Beach area and I am happy to travel 40 minutes to an hour maximum. I prefer to shoot during the day rather than evenings. Any idea's please?
Sarasota Trap and Skeet is where you need to go. Big 50 every Wends and Sat. Fields are great and great people shooting. Skeet fields and Sporting Clays in the woods. Its about a 40 minute drive south of St Pete Beach. Good luck hope to see you out there. Robin
Thanks guys, I called in at Sarasota last year but it was closed most of the week. There was reclaiming of lead taking place at the time. Are there any clubs that are open everyday where I could go and shoot with my son who will be visiting us from England? I only shoot lead (no steel) but thanks 'TBarber'.
I have nothing against $$ - it is a great venue, just looking for a change.
Ron......you can head NORTH to Robinson Ranch. Easy to get to. Much more north is Flagler Club. Pull up Florida ATA sites and check for clubs and the locations. I stay at the Dollar and shoot every day I can. Sarasota's nice.
Since you son comes from the UK you might like to come to Gator Skeet and Trap in Gainesville. We have the only Olympic Bunker in the State. Let me know when you are coming.
Hi All, Thanks for the information regarding where to shoot in St.Pete's area of Florida. I looked at the Gainsville site, looks impressive! I will look at the ATA list although I am not an ATA member. Thanks again to you all for the help/advise.
