I took a '65 30" Browning Superposed with fixed IM/F and had Briley put tubes into it. For 20 years its been my companion for Skeet and Sporting Clays.

How high do your scores have to be for it to be done EFFECTIVELY? I feel like I can and do. Jackie B.

Well, since I only brought one gun over here, I am. Effectively? Define effective.

Lucky for me, my unsingle barrel shoots high, and when I change to the double barrel, it shoots pretty flat. Don't have to change anything but the barrel set to shoot it for skeet and sporting clays.

<blockquote>"...Define effective."</blockquote>Let's say 20/25 in skeet and 80/100 in sporting.

You can make any gun work, look at trap shooting. A number of non-registered shooters shooting a duck gun or whatever.

However, it will cost you targets...

    In any case, have fun!

When you tackle a curling, dropping chandelle target how do you factor in the fact that your gun shoots 6 to 12 inches high?

I do. Many people shoot sporting clays with guns that shoot 60-40, which is common for a doubles trap gun. 32" O/U guns are as common on the sporting clays or skeet ranges as they are on trap fields.

Low 90's is pretty easy with my trap gun shooting skeet but I don't do so well on sporting clays.(lately if I shoot in the 60's I'm tickled) LOL Jackie B.

    <i>Let's say 20/25 in skeet and 80/100 in sporting.</i>

MK, if that is the criteria, then I am shooting effectively.

But back home, normally, no I do not use my trap gun for anything but ATA trap.

    I'll add in...if that's the criteria...I'm way past effective.

but I also shoot the other games as a hobby..versus trap, which is serious. If I were a 'serious' sporting shooter, i'd have a sporting gun, as some have suggested.

but I think I hold my own at my club. i had a top 10 average this year in the league, where we shoot all the games.
