    .

Anyone ever use their over/under or other trap gun for pheasant ?

I have shot my Browning Citori XT with monte carlo comb more than any of the rest of my guns in the past couple of years.

Have field guns that I could take, but haven't shot them anywhere near as much as the Citori XT in the past couple of years.

Could replace the IM/F trap chokes with IC/IM.

Some say that trap shooting simulates flushing birds like pheasant.

The area is wide open corn and grain fields neighboring sagebrush.

In past visits to this area, birds have tended to flush close to our feet but missed birds are visible for a couple hundred yards or more. Will be using a dog.

Don't guess one day with 1-1/4 ounce loads of #5 lead shot will ruin a Browning Citori, will it ?

Could take a Winchester Model 21 with 32-inch F/XF chokes for backup.

Until recent years of hunting with sub guages, trap guns were all I used.

Just make sure you float the pheasant enough!

Every hunting gun I've ever picked up had a comb that was waaaay too low until I bought my first trap gun....so I used it (an 870 TA) to hunt everyting....

Charlie Feller, caretaker of the Spokane Gun Club 60 years ago, took me duck hunting and trapshooting. We always traveled in his Hudson and shot our Mod.12's., whatever the day's destination.

I think a trap gun would work fine as long as someone else would carry it for me.
