Tracers - Where can I get some?

    I once bought 200 wads that had a small silver incendiary pellet at the base of the wad, the heat of powder ignition would start them burning.


    The cost was $10 per hundred but this was about 20 years ago. I loaded a few and they were impressive when shot at night. They would burn all the way to the target and a lot longer if you missed the target.


    All of the nearby clubs banned them due to the fire hazard of setting dry range grass on fire.


    I kept them in the garage for a year or so and then became concerned that they might somehow ignite and cause a fire. I don’t know if the impact of dropping one will set it off like some of the fireworks we had as kids,


    I gave them away free to another shooter.


    IMO, be very careful with them if you acquire some.

    It's only the wad that is tracer material, so what good is it? Bill
