I purchased Top Guns & Winchester Universal's in 4 pack units, last night it was 33 degrees and shooting buddies from the 27 I found that I missed a lot of shots with Top Gun's but when I swithed to the Winchester Universal's I did not miss targets, I did not put them over a chronograph yet, but has anyone else done it, baby it is cold outside to set up chrono. Both were 3 dram 7 1/2s.

My friend said he had the same results with the Top Gun's, missed a lot of targets, he said they were slow.

    dr. longshot,

The only Universal shells that I like are the 1 1/8oz 3dr 6's, but those are hard to find. I have no problem at all with the 3dr 7 1/2 Top Guns for call birds from yardage. In fact they'll turn them into sootballs from the 25-27 if I do my job. Weather permitting, make your way over to Spencer tonight, by far the best game shoot in the state, and we can compare the two. I can also introduce you quite a few longshot specialist!

    Monoman,

From the intersection of 231 and 67, about 6 mi north of Spencer, go south 1 mi to Coon Path Rd. This road only goes back to the west (it is right after you cross a bridge at the bottom of the hill). Follow this road to the intersection, approximatly 1 mi, then go caty corner onto the gravel rd gunclub is about 1/2mi on left.

The program stars at 6pm. It consists of 4 annies, 3 draw protctions, pad, and time permitting a 3 and out. The first annie is a 410 annie shot from the 16yd line. 3" shells are permitited. This one starts out the program. You then shoot the pad with 3 annies and 3 protections been shot alternatly. Time permitting a three and out will be shot on the end. The regular annies and protections are shot from the 25yd line. the pad is about 35yds.

If you shoot everything, it may cost you $20. I normally shoot the pad, 3 annies, and 3 draw picks. This comes to $15.50. You can shoot practice targets from about 4pm till start of program.

Good food and pie is served. The people are some of the best that I've been around. This is an every Saturday shoot. Shooters come in from as far as 100 mi to shoot there. I hope to see ya there!

I found out what the problem was today, my new release trigger was hanging up for a few milliseconds, took it apart and it needed some lube so I used the white lithium grease that solved the problem. It was not the shells after all.

    Mike,

I've never shot the Winchester 1oz loads. I do like the 1 oz federals for the sporting clays range. I'll have to give those Winchester 1 oz loads a try. Thanks for the info!

Tell me; is 20fps going to make one iota of difference.....?
(especially when there is far more shell-to-shell variation than that, in any box of shells)
