Too Lazy To Count

    How many 12 ga hulls will fit in a bushel. Using bushel Apple boxes.

    Figure the volume of the Apple box and the volume of the standard 135 bird box using 500 hulls for the bird box. Difference in volume will give you the number with-in reason. Ben

    I do not know how big a bushel is,,,but. I get 1200 to 1300 in a 16x16x15box. Buy the way I will sell for 55.00 shipped WinAA 12G new style gray. 1F

    5 gallons is a little over half a bushel.

    The best way to answer this question is to determine the number of empty hulls that will fit into a peck. This can be done by counting the hulls that would go into 10 different pecks. Once an accurate average of the number of hulls that will fit into a peck, simply multiply this number by 4 and you will have your answer. For accuracy, you should also calculate +- one standard error around the average.

    Just a guess but I think 4 pecks of empty hulls would weigh less than 1/2 stone.
