Barry.. How about a word a day.. of the most commonly made errors. We could then learn without being offended.. I'm sure I'm guilty of many.. and this way no one gets their feathers ruffled.. All Good.. Mike

Understanding and using proper English (which I believe is everyone's first language on this site) should be important to all of us.

Do we really wonder why U.S. education is mocked everywhere else in the world? We can't even use our ONLY language properly. Try traveling abroad sometime with only one language in your inventory. Being tri-lingual means you speak three languages; being bi-lingual means you speak two languages; when you speak one language that means you are American.

Spelling and grammar mistakes are going to happen, what is important is the message. I remember struggling with composition because I was afraid of making mistakes, that fear blocks creative thought processes. I would rather read a poorly written opinion than have someone remain silent because they were made to feel inferior. Besides grammar cop at TS.com is neither a paid or solicited position. Well there's that too.

    There and Their

    Your and You're

Yes, it can be a challenge sometimes.

Unfortunately, if the message looks like it is written by an ignorant person it is easy to ignore. This can be catastrophic if you are attempting to convince someone to accept a different point of view. It is easy to conclude someone is stupid and not just ignorant - vastly different but often perceived as complimentary.

Yes, with friends, it is ignored because we love them and like them; and we know/beleive they are good people or they would not be our friends.
