I believe the only difference is the TMS is factory choked. The TM1 is fixed choked. I am pretty certain that both have a removable trigger group. I have seen both guns triggers with both leaf and coil springs

I believe the TMS has an adjustable trigger blade to change the lop, also a tapered rib, The one's I've owned had these features.

TMS is a TM1 with factory choke tubes. "S" is initial of Choke in Italian.

TM1 Special is a TM1 with adjustable LOP trigger.

Both coil & flat springs were available.

Here's a real TMS for those who are confused about TM1 and TM1 special.

I have a Rome, NY gun stamped TM-1, with interchangeable chokes. Sometimes they used a suffix of S or C to differentiate from standard. Sometimes they didn't.

It depends on when it was made, who the importer was and how they wanted to market them. "TM-1", "TMS", "Comp IV", and "Competition 1 single barrel trap" are "names" - marketing variations of the same basic design, by different importers over the years.

Whatever they call TM1, TMS is not TM1 Special.
