Why is a TM1 called a TM1? Have not been able to find a tangible answer for this except guess that it stands for TRAP MODEL 1 but none of the old Ithaca catalogues call it a TM1. Can someone please clarify?
    Thanks for the help.

    Alex.

Thank you all. Very nice answers but there is the usual smart ass in every crowd.
EuroJoe, I expected better from you. Most of your posts are very informative but this one adds nothing. For you I will rephrase the question. Why is it stamped TM1?
Although I expect that you were just being flippant.

    Alex.

GRouper. If Steve W does not know then you best ask the folks at Perazzi. Adn why is a MX so designated? You invited the smart answers with your off the wall question.

I know, it is winter. These things happen in winter.

Why is the original Shelby GT 350 called "GT 350"...according to legend, 'cause somebody walked from the office to the garage (or some kind of arbitrary distance) at Shelby Inc. near Los Angeles International Airport and the distance was 350 steps or so.

I'm not trying to be flip, but suggest that sometimes companies pick nomenclature just 'cause it sounds cool and is arbitrary. Sort of like how Japanese cars are named, some of the names are made by computer.

Maybe the Perrazi nomenclature might, and I emphasize might, have developed after hours at a local pub/roadhouse/bistro in Brescia, Italy?
