    Let's see if I understand how that works. I'm so over my head in debt that I can't see daylight at all - now I get a pay raise and whoopee I can go out and charge more stuff. Is that right? Bet that's what the FED would do.

    Powerball is as good as a national lottery already. It's played in 42 states, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Ilands. The eight states not participating will eventually join in after realizing they are just losing out on potential income tax revenues. People who spend money foolishly will do so whether the lottery is an option to them or not. I am pro lottery personally.

    Lottery = stupidity tax

    Paid mostly by those who Obama promised not to raise taxes on.

    A Government run lottery? It would take 30,000 people to run it, 28,000 pages of legislation to make it legal, 35 government agencies, who would want their share. On and on and on....It would be bankrupt for it even got started.

    I agree with all that has been said. Yesterday, I stopped at a covenience store to get a paper and some snuff. This lady in front of me was picking out Lottery Scratch cards. Took her almost 10 min. to pick them out, and then she pulls out her credit card. She looked like she could use a bath and a decent meal. She spent $200 on them.

    The lottery here was supposed to support and enhance our school system. It has'nt done diddly-squat.

    A lottery run by Obummer? He'd probably have a tax rate of 95% to make it more fair and the money would go to welfare entitlements.

    Charlie when they first started the lotto here I bought 5 cards and got all the numbers scattered between the 5 cards, I thought man this is going to be easy, it was the closest I ever came to hitting it

    I'm don't even recall winning anything

    But my wife was a lot luckier, but it was too short of a streak to do any good

    Remember when the IRS took over a house of prostitution in Nevada for non payment of taxes and it went out of business within a year because of bad management?

    We used to buy a bunch of scratch offs for Christmas and Birthdays for the kids, but I don't remember any substantial wins. A dollar or two here and there, and maybe a five dollar one. We just quit them.

    MY wife won about $1600 once when she had 4 numbers I think, maybe it was 5

    Then two days later she won $1000 on a scratch off

    But that was it
