I like to pass along names of good people I've done business with. Tom Mason, my friend and local gunsmith has now moved from Illinois and set up shop in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. (I've never been there, but Tom tells me it's @30 minutes north of Kansas City.) Tom does it all. He made me a custom stock for my Silver Seitz. He's tuned or repaired most of the revolvers and semi-auto pistols I own. He's also worked on my Remington 1100 and my Ruger 10/22. I know several other folks he's done work for and they've been pleased as well. He does great work and is a nice guy to boot. When he's not fixing guns, he's shooting them.

If any of you folks are near Excelsior Springs and need some gunsmithing, call Tom. Here's where you can find him:

Sorry, I don't even know where Farmington is. Maybe someone else can chime in.

What might be an idea for a 'Sticky' thread would be one with names and locations of gunsmiths folks could use as a reference when needed.

In Farmington, Missouri you are not very far from Art's Gun & Sport Shop in Hillsboro, MO (Browning Specialist), MidWest Gun Works in Peveley, MO (Browning Specialist and General Gunsmith work) and Kirby the Gunsmith (The Shotgun Shop) in Arnold, MO (General Gunsmithing). And you are less than two hours from the Winchester Model 12 and Super X1 expert and choke tube maker Stu Wright in Pinckneyville, Illinois.

I have had barrel work and other necessary work on some very good guns done by Midwest Gunworks in Pevely, MO. Their work is first class and, importantly, they get your work done when promised! Couldn't be happier with them!
