It was very warm and humid but it did not rain. Still, this was the slowest nite we have had since march. 25 squads total, we usually average high 30's. Those that did come did not have a long wait to shoot. A few of the top shooters for the nite were:

    Bob Aldridge 49x50

    Eric Koch 49x50

    Rich Lewis 49x50

The longbird pot hit $200 and Calvin from MD was drawn and managed to miss so the pot rolls over till next week.

Our puller on trap 1, Samantha, just had her Sweet 16 and Bob Pierce was kind enough to buy her a birthday cake. Thanks Bob. Everyone in the club house sang the birthday song and shared her cake. She was very happy with the $50 some shooters gave her.

Top prize winner for the nite was Eric Koch with 4.

Hoping for a bigger crowd next Thursday.

Remember to get your longbird tickets the pot is up to $200 now and with good weather should be about $275 when drawn at 7pm.(Thur nite Oct 1st)

Weather report has changed a little bit. Partly sunny and in the low 60's. I'm looking forward to breaking some clay.

Our gun club is located at 880 Chrome Rd Oxford Pa. It's a bit of a ride for you but we have hosted VA shooters here before.

    Curt:

Not so fast. The club provides the shell for the longbird shot. It's a 3drm hcp load 1200fps.

1200 fps is not a "Handicap" load......

    1250 fps....

Make it even more fun...use a 1oz. #9 skeeter load.

Ask Bob Pierce how easy it is. He missed the longbird tonite from post 3 with $275 on the line. Next week it should hit $350.

The longbird pot shoot sounds like fun, could you tell me exactly how the longbird pot and shoot is set up. We shoot every Wednesday night at our club in Orofino Idaho and this sounds like somthing the guys would like.
    Thanks Carey

    Hoffman06:

Our Longbird shot is shot from the 27yd line. During sign-ups for the nite shoot we sell tickets for $1 each. At 7pm one of the gals draws a single ticket and a post #. We then call for that shooter to report to the practice trap and give him one shell. The shooter gets one target only, no failures to fire, no seeing a target. If they break the target before it hits the ground they get half the pot, the other half goes to the club. If the shooter misses, the pot rolls over to the next week. It's not hard but the majority of shooters here on Thur nite are not 27yd shooters. And, with everyone standing behind you watching the pressure is on.
