Three Hole Targets?

    It's a old term, based on the mechanics of Winchester hand-set traps. If you are on post one or five and you get a straightaway you are seeing what you occasionally - most birds are not extreme angles, after all - got when a threaded widget was in the hole of a rotating plate designated by the integer "3."

    You still have the chance to use a three-hole with GMV traps. Pats use another system.

    Present rules allow anything more than a 34 degree spread, which is a srtaight-away from about 3 feet "in" (toward post 3) from one and five. That is, clubs which favor wider target angles have to do nothing but throw them, a point which many recent threads have apparently not made clearly enough, though I can hardly see how that's possible.
