Does anyone know what the thread size is for the front site on a Beretta 686 top single barrel?

    Thanks Dave

Bradley Sights are the most used as OEM replacements. Beretta use's their 1/8" bead, with a shank length of 7/64" and a thread size of 3-56 as stated by Vern.

Actually the front bead is metric and is 2.5mm x .45 mm pitch - but 3-56 is very similar and should work.

The mid rib bead is 2.2mm x .45mm pitch which should be close to a 2-56 thread.

This is from the Beretta USA website.

Thanks for your input. Midway USA lists a Bradley style front sight with a 2.5mmx.5 pitch. As Skeezix said from the Beretta site that it was actually metric and being a European gun, I am going to order the m2.5x.5 sight.

Thanks again for all your help. Dave

As John stated a .45 metric pitch would equal 56.49 threads per inch and very close, but Dave mentioned Midway sells .5mm pitch beads which comes to 50.76 and not so close to a 56 pitch. That's more then 1 whole thread overlap each 1/4" engagement. If your only screwing in about 1/8" it should be no problem.

Metric thread charts list a course m2.5x.45 and a fine m2.5x.35. There was no listing for a .5 like in the Midway catalog so I am going to assume that it is a .45 pitch.
