So the guy wants to do his job of being a working Senator - He didn't say he was going over to the dark side just that he was going to try and work with them to get things moving. Too bad all of our Senators don't follow his lead.

    I must confess some confusion.

Alexander's motivation for getting out of leadership is to gain independence, pursue his priorities and at least potentially work more closely with dems. Fair enough.

    Then the seventh paragraph says,

"Alexander listed other priorities in his speech Tuesday: reining in health care costs, curbing spending, creating jobs."

I would politely challenge him to name a single senate dem that will support meaningful legislation to accomplish ANY of those goals.

Alexander may or may not be a RINO, but if he thinks he can build a coalition with dems willing to reign in health care costs, curb spending, or create a sustainable private sector job - he's lost his mind.

Bingo. He's turning his back on standing fast on not raising taxes, etc.

    I dont see the issue

One size does not fit all

    Unless

You want Mr. Obama to have a second term

Moderate Americans will not be swayed with threats or extreme demands and ultimatums. In fact they will be repulsed and even forget what the issues are.

    Regards from Iowa

Galt - How'd that work in Delaware and Nevada? Duh Galt? Getting rid of a RINO for a Democrat. Now, how dumb is that? Autocastration is not a good strategy.

Come on Galt, gimme a Banzai! Hmmmmm, your Banzai buddies lost WW-II as I remember.
