i miss the exhaust smell: the smell of the exhaust on a '12 vette is not what it was on a '77 vette. can you remember the sweet smell of 78 cents per gallon gas engine exhaust?

My first "real" trap gun was an 870 TB. Paid $167.00 tax tag and title out the door in Rantoul Ill. in 1973! Of course, I was a young Buck Sgt. in the Air Force masking $300.00 a month plus allowances!

Still shooting my 870. Bought it in 1979 for $179 with my very first income tax return check. I got back $225, bought the shotgun and a case of Winchester Super-X loads (20 box case) and still had enough left over to put $3 worth of gas in the tank of my '77 Ford F-150.

Some show their age when they call a flat a case. The younger shooters. I to remember those days when you got a case and it had 20 boxes and 500 shells. I hate it when people who know better try to pass off the flat as a case.

I miss 12 pound kegs.....Yes I can buy an 8 and a 4 lb. container, but like buying a case of shells, 12 lbs. of powder was way cheaper.

I miss the bar at the Phoenix Trap Club. I bought Dan Orlick (sp) a couple of drinks there one time and he told me about the really big money shoots......Oh well!

I also miss the 12 lb kegs but I miss the new Active shells. top of the list though is I miss my church basketball coach who started me hunting at age 10 and became my second father. His name as Al Myers and he died way too young. I shot hundreds of bunnies with him and his dog and ferret ( ferret was legal then)

    I miss my dad!!!

He exposed me to hunting/shooting and guns at an early age and made sure I knew how to do them safely. I'm doing my best with my two boys.

I miss my health most. Without that, costs are meaningless for things I can afford.

I miss both my shooting buddies, who have both gone-over. And, my shooten'-ist grandson who just moved away. Getting old isn't for the weak-of-mind, or spirit.

    Similar to above:

    Shells at 500 per case.

I believe I bought Red Dot in 15lb cardboard drums.

Gas for my '66 Mustang 23.9 per gallon.

Hey I've got a barrel off one of those hi rib simmons mossberg 500. Was thinking of buying a old 500 and get a high comb stock, but undecided yet. Is my barrel worth much? it's pretty nice shape, bore is great, has one full tube.
